GPFS model prediction of potential global population index of oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (including observations of B. invadens), based on most recent 10 years (2003–2012) weather data from National Centers for Environmental Prediction – Climate Forecast System Reanalysis (NCEP-CFSR) at a 38 km resolution. The predictions are on a scale of 0-1 and do not account for the presence or absence of suitable hosts. The map is the highest population index of any month averaged over ten years with initial populations in each year being independent. The map also includes the cold and dry exclusions from Figure 2.
