NeoBiota celebrates increased Scopus CiteScore: 5.8

26 July 2022

Released on 9th June, the new Scopus CiteScore for NeoBiota goes up from 3.9 to 5.8, which places it in Q1 in seven categories: Animal Science and Zoology; Aquatic Science; Ecological Modeling; Ecology; Ecology, Evolution, Behavior and Systematics; Insect Science; and Plant Science.

This excellent result indicates the journal has performed better in citation rates - according to the data available Scopus, as a result of growth in content quality and usability, as well as visibility, findability and general appeal.

While the Scopus CiteScore - like any other metrics based on automated calculations and limited data - is not perfect in measuring the actual scholarly value of published research work, we need to acknowledge that it remains one of the key evaluation metrics in academia.

So, the team behind NeoBiota wishes to use the occasion to congratulate all its authors, editors, reviewers and readers for this exciting achievement and thank all who have engaged with the journal by submitting their articles, helped in improving the quality of the articles by providing their feedback and editorial input, or simply pointed their colleagues to the journal’s content. Surely, this success is the result of the contributions of each one of you!
